Go Au Pair – Utah

For Au Pair and Host Families

January Au Pair Activity!

on January 28, 2014

Happy New Year everyone! We are now at the end of January 2014, and we can cross off the list, another successful Au Pair activity, with the Utah Au pair group.  Our Utah Au Pair group, met at Pier 49 pizza in downtown Salt Lake City. We got to know each other a little better, especially the new Au pairs of the group, we ate some pizza and then we made our way across the street to the ice skating rink at the Gallivan Center.   The Gallivan center has been open since 1991 and it is a pretty popular place for the Salt Lake Locals, especially during the holidays, with the beautiful lights displayed. We went ice skating in the early afternoon and it was great!  It was a sunny and perfect day for ice skating! It was one of the warmer days we’ve had and the sun was out and shining bright.  We had a great turnout with 13 Au pairs attending the event. We had Au Pairs there from Germany, Ukraine, Ecuador, Panama, South Africa and Colombia. We skated around for hours, took pictures, made trains and had a really great overall afternoon together as a group.

This shows how important it is for International Exchange. Young women from all over the world, get to meet each other and experience new things together that will bind their friends and create wonderful memories that involve people they normally would never even get to meet or know in their lives.  The Au Pair program is an amazing program and I am so grateful I get to be a part of the program as a whole, but also be involved with these amazing young women’s journey here in Utah.   The next activity will be in February or the beginning of March and will be announced soon.
