Our Utah au pair group had their holiday activity yesterday. We met at Pier 49 Pizza in downtown Salt Lake for lunch and then walked over to the Gallivan Center and went iceskating. I think everyone had a great time!! We had 13 au pairs come, so it was a great turnout and huge success!! Thank you to all the au pairs! Happy Holidays!!

Every year, the International Au Pair Association (IAPA) presents the Au Pair of the Year Award to one outstanding Au Pair. The recipient of this prestigious award is determined by an essay nomination provided by Host Families like you from around the world.

The “IAPA Au Pair of the Year ” award is one way of giving au pairs the recognition and credit they deserve and enhances the public’s awareness of this demanding yet undervalued cultural experience.

1. Host family essays will be judged by a selection panel appointed by the International Au Pair Association. To ensure fairness and objectivity by the selection panel, the names of the au pair and the sending/receiving organization/s will not appear on contest entries.

2. Essays will be rated and three au pair finalists selected. In order to qualify each au pair finalist must write in their own words a short essay detailing his/her own au pair experience. The essay must be in English.

3. All contest entries will become property of the International Au Pair Association, including rights to edit and publish the material.

4. The winning au pair will be required, all expenses paid, to attend the Association’s 17th Annual Conference where he/she will be presented with a token prize and commemorative award.

5. In order for your au pair to be eligible for the award, you may be required to provide verification of the essays content.

Holiday Activity!!

We are going to lunch and Iceskating for our Holiday party this year. All the Utah au pairs voted for an activity that they wanted to do, and this one won. We will be meeting on Dec. 3rd at 12:00 pm for lunch at Pier 49 Pizza and then we will go over to the Gallivan Center, an outside icskating rink. I hope all the au pairs will attend!!

Family Day BBQ!! A Great Success!!!

We have a family day bbq on August 26th, where all our host families, au pairs, and corporate staff were invited. We had the bbq at the park and we ate, talked, the kids played, and we all had a great time! Most of our families and au pairs attended and it was a great success! Thanks everyone!!
